We were asked to design and fully renovate a 1000 sq ft home located in Grasmere, Ambleside. The brief was to create an open-plan living space to expand the views and flood their home with natural light. With the home being next to the lake and a picturesque backdrop of rolling fells, the home needed to have a refined country feel. Working with our clients who had incredible design aspirations we adopted a neutral but refined palette with natural woods, antique accents, and layered textures throughout. We carried out full bespoke joinery services from architectural elements to wall panelling and media units. Working closely with Daval Furniture who designed and manufactured the woodland green kitchen. For the bedrooms, we proposed colours, materials and furniture that create a calming sanctuary to unwind. For the hallway, bathroom and living areas, we proposed pure, neutral off-whites to give a warm and soft appearance. Special attention is paid to the lighting to create an ambience whilst also being practical, adding in warm dimmable spotlights, walls, pendants, and integrated lighting into the joinery. The overall effect is one which modestly exudes luxury and comfort.
